EMAT 8990
First Semester Doctoral Seminar
Fall 2005

Aderhold 116

9:30-10:30 am

Purpose

This seminar is open to all new doctoral students and is intended to be taken in your first semester of residency. The purpose of the seminar is for you to learn about the work and interests of each faculty member in mathematics education. Each week a different faculty member will join us for discussion of a piece of work (article, grant proposal, etc.) that s/he has selected. In addition to learning about the work of each faculty member, the seminar will serve to introduce you to the variety of options you will have for course work, research, service activities, independent studies, and other activities during your doctoral program.
